Cumming
Just like the cities of Buford and Flowery Branch, Cumming also hugs the shores of Lake Lanier, a perfect location for family fun and entertainment. Other family adventures can be found on the great Sawnee Mountain, which was recently recognized by the Georgia Urban Forestry Council as Most Outstanding Green Space Plan and received the County Excellence Award by The Association of County Commissioners of Georgia. It covers 963 acres and includes hiking trails overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains, interactive exhibits and children’s camps.
Cumming also has a state of the art Aquatic Center and Water Park, a Playhouse, which provides a variety of the best musicals and productions, and a Historical Society.
Cumming is located in Forsyth County covering approximately 6 square miles and called home to over 5,400 residents. It has one of the highest SAT scores and graduation ratios in Georgia and is considered the county seat or the administrative city for Forsyth. Founded in 1832 by two local justices, the town is named in honor of Colonel William Cumming for his leadership and courageous acts while in the military.
With all Cumming has to offer and only 40 miles from Atlanta, it still has that warm, homecoming feel.
