Duluth
Duluth is located just 20 miles from downtown Atlanta and proudly follows their motto, ‘Capture the Spirit of Good Living’. With so many events in Duluth, you and your family will find more than enough activities to keep you entertained. The $122 million Infinite Energy Arena hosts concerts and sporting events including attractions such as Carrie Underwood and the Atlanta Gladiators. Duluth also hosts golfing events such as The Seniors PGA Champions Tour and in recent years hosted the AT&T Classic PGA Tour. For the history buffs in your family, The Southeastern Railway Museum is located in Duluth which includes Pullman cars and classic steam locomotives.
The first female mayor, for the State of Georgia, was elected in Duluth in 1923, Alice Harrell Strickland. Originally named Howell’s Crossing, Congress changed the name in 1871 after funding a north-south railway from Duluth, Minnesota.
Forbes Magazine ranks Duluth 26th on the ‘America’s Best Places To Move’ list and Businessweek magazine recognized it as the Best Affordable Suburb in Georgia.
Duluth covers 10 square miles and is home to 26,600 residents.
